YEAR 1979
Established Island Marine Services Corporation supplying all complement of Filipino seafarers to various type of ships of Showa Line Ltd., Tokyo, Japan
YEAR 1981
Concluded a manning agreement with European Navigation Inc. of Piraeus, Greece, an affiliate of Elka Shipping Corporation of London.
YEAR 1982
Contracted by Hinode Line Ltd. of Tokyo for supply of all Filipino complement for their heavy lift type of vessels.
YEAR 1987
Established Island Overseas Transport Corporation (IOTC) to widen its corporate business operations such as engaging in
bareboat chartering (Dual Flag) scheme by registering of vessels under Philippine flag; Commenced active participation in Philippine Flag registration.
YEAR 1989
Established Eastgate Maritime Training Center (to serve IOTC crew) for up-grading skills of Filipino seafarers, started operation of Bicutan facility; Inaugurated IOTC House & Seaman’s Dormitory at Bicutan.
YEAR 1990
Provided all Filipino complement for newly-built Cape-Size Vessels of Showa Line Ltd.
YEAR 1995
Transferred to its new offices at Eastgate Centre, a 10-storey building owned by a subsidiary company.
YEAR 1998
Adopted a Quality Management System and certified by DNV under the Rules of Crew Manning Offices. Showa Line Eng’g Co. Ltd. was dissolved, commenced manning contract with Hachiuma Steamship Co. Ltd. of Kobe, an NYK subsidiary.
Concluded a manning agreement to supply Filipino officers and crew for ships of NYK LINE thru its subsidiary, Showa Line Eng’g Co. Ltd. of Yokohama, Japan.
YEAR 2001
Established its corporate name within the NYK Group as the leading supplier of competent Filipino seamen for cape-size vessels, getting ship assignment in succession for newly-built ships, biggest of which is the M.V. “Onga”, a 230,000 DWT bulk carrier manned by an all Filipino seafarers.
YEAR 2002
Opened a representative Office in Tokyo, Japan
YEAR 2005
Opened a recruitment office in Iloilo City.
Upgraded its Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2000 standards
YEAR 2008
Opened a recruitment office in Cebu City.
YEAR 2014
Facilitated the establishment of the Eastgate Group Maritime Allottees' Association, Inc.
YEAR 2015
Opened a Family Center in Cebu City.
YEAR 2016
IOTC’s affiliate Eastgate Maritime Training Center Inc. official ground broke a new training center to cater IOTC seafarers.
YEAR 2017
IOTC Celebrates is 30th Founding Anniversary.
